Trusme Still No Check
Trus'me - Still No Check ?
(12"/Digital) Prime Numbers/Fat City Recordings PN01, 2009-01-17

A 4 track EP of now unavailable Trus'me productions... Starting off Good God is great house track produced with a strong hiphop style. It has saturday night & dancefloor written all over it, combining bassline / vocals from Teddy Pendergrass, with twisted keys and arrangements that tease and deliver in equal measures.Big favourite with three chairs who helped to create a demand for this underground production. Browns is deep and smooth downbeat production of spaced out cinematic hip hop, part Blade Runner, part Motor City. W.A.R Dub Deep beats, Detroitesque arrangements and a fantastic live feeling are the key ingredients for this massive dancefloor mover. It's one for all the old school New Jersey Deep fans out there. Stripped down, raw à la Kerri Chandler track, this is House made for a dark and sweaty dancefloor. Phone Spittin is a track that shows Trus'me is not all about the 4/4. Here he drops a heavy slab of hiphop. A big favourite with the Stones Throw crew, Trus'me combines heavybeats and fazed percussion, big strings, piano loops and deep moog bass to create a short but addictive and unusual piece.
