71 new mixes posted in 2012, that's 3 more than 2011, with some unique original artworks, mainly done by Djouls until the fantastic Ben Hito joined Paris DJs last summer and started getting our visuals to new heights… Grant Phabao was also there each time for the audio mastering which makes our mixes so much better than most of what you can find elsewhere. 28 guests responded to our invitation, and we'd like to thank them all: Funki Porcini, The Real Tuesday Weld, Hidden Orchestra, Adrian Younge, Jewpop, DJ Manchild, Lexus Blondin, Karl Hector, Matthew Halsall and Nat Birchall, DJ Zhao, Renegades Of Jazz, Beta Hector, Dustytape, Sandra Nkaké & Jî Dru, Phil Meadley, Cultures Of Soul, Hazmat Modine, Andrew Jervis, Chicha Libre, Miles Cleret, Butch Cassidy Sound System, Lucas Santtana, Batida, Chris Menist, Quantic, Soulist, The Herbaliser, Todd Simon, and DJ PepeSol for Analog Africa! A few uneducated didn't bother to reply and some couldn't find the time to deliver - well it's too late for them, sorry about that, they had their chance to be a part of some standards in music podcasting.

Now about the 5 most downloaded mixes of the year… Of course the ones that were posted at the beginning of 2012 had more times to generate downloads but that's the thing with yearly lists. Same winner as last year, hats off to Hidden Orchestra, who managed to gather more than 17.000 downloaders with their 'Flight Mixtape', speeding up throughout from 70bpm to 140bpm on an eclectic and intricately-woven selection of music, sound effects, acapellas, interviews, and spoken word. Second most downloaded mix of 2012 is the 'Paris DJs Soundsystem presents Aloe Blacc 1h-retrospective of the man's career so far, from jazz, reggae, soul, hip hop, latin to funk, with nearly 14.000 downloads on our server alone. Hopefully some labels and artists will contact us in 2013 asking us to do more of the same for other artists… Our friend Quantic is responsible for the third most downloaded mix, his 'Cumbia 78 RPM Mix', part of the all-summer-long celebration of Soundway Records' 10th anniversary, is truly something different. And groovy! After that we have Karl Hector, who was already in the top 5 last year with his 'Jazz Modal du Monde' mix. He did it again in 2012 and everyone agreed on his 4th Paris DJs mix 'Soul Sauvage d'Afrique. And finally, our special 'Funk, Soul, Reggae & Hip Hop From Tel-Aviv, concocted in collaboration with the Jewpop.com blog, has seduced many music downloaders from all over the world.
