Poster artist Ben Hito was the catalyst to this mix, coming up to to Paris DJs with a nearly finished georgeous and trippy artwork of his. We first went into the specific thematic direction he had suggested, but after many months of not-that-successful digging, rather than throwing in the towel, we tried something else. We had only kept from our initial selection a handful of very cool instrumental pieces, and they could somehow all be filed under "psychedelic funk". So we went searching for more of the same kind in the Paris DJs store 45s vaults. And we found plenty…

When it comes to new productions, recently released groovy and/or psychedelic music, one of the best spots in France is Paris DJs', where you can find incredible finger-snapping and/or mind-expanding stuff from all over the world, rare live recordings, and unlimited information about the players from the scene since the mid-90s. A truly magical kingdom of music you (mostly) haven't heard of before!
