Back from their gig at the Glastonbury Festival in 2013, the Paris DJs collective decided to up the game with a brand new stage concept called the Paris DJs Soul System, an innovative show blending deejaying and old school dub session, all with original tunes and remixes, taken from nearly two decades of music production. From Jamaican soul, ska, rocksteady & reggae to American funk & jazz, Nigerian afrobeat or Cameroonian funk, Grant Phabao managed to cross the boundaries of music categorization. With the Dreadless Soldier, alias famous Parisian DJ Erik Rug, they are the first incarnation of the Paris DJs Soul System, presenting here a one hour-long live set, recorded at Paris DJs' studio at the end of 2017. The mix is available as a free download, or Wearplay T-shirt designed by poster artist Ben Hito, using some of the work he did for the Grant Phabao Afrofunk Arkestra album cover (album to be released mid-june 2018 as a limited edition 250 copies vinyl LP, pre-order here).

De retour de leur set au festival Glastonbury en 2013, le collectif Paris DJs décidait de placer la barre un peu plus haut avec un nouveau concept scénique, le Paris DJs Soul System, un spectacle innovant qui mélange deejaying et session dub à l'ancienne, le tout sur des morceaux et remixes originaux issus de presque deux décennies de production musicale. Depuis la soul jamaïcaine, le ska, le rocksteady & le reggae jusqu'au funk et au jazz américains, à l'afrobeat nigérian ou au funk camerounais, Grant Phabao a réussi à décloisonner les styles et abattre les barrières de la catégorisation musicale. Avec le Dreadless Soldier, alias le célèbre DJ Parisien Erik Rug, ils sont la première incarnation du Paris DJs Soul System, et présentent ici un set live d'une heure, enregistré au studio Paris DJs à la fin de l'année 2017. Le mix est disponible en téléchargement gratuit, ou en T-shirt Wearplay T-shirt illustré par l'affichiste Ben Hito, qui a repris une partie de son travail pour la pochette de l'album du Grant Phabao Afrofunk Arkestra (sortie mi-juin 2018 en édition limitée vinyle 250 exemplaires, pré-commandez ici).
