We had spotlighted his first single 'Head Games' and album 'Off The Course' in our big summer playlist and just a few days upfront of his exclusive mix for Paris DJs, Lost Midas' new single lands at our door. The Boston native but relocated in L.A. since 2011, Lost Midas is the alter ego of Jason Trikakis, hip hop drummer in many projects in the past. He's a multi-instrumentalist who found his own path in production, and his electronic soul productions include some chillout, synth-heavy masterpieces. This new single is on the rather 'heavy beats' side of things, as opposed to his softer, more delicate tunes. Building up for 30 secondes with a bludgeoning beat, it breaks down in a broken dream for three quarters of a minute, before launching back the bounce and building up and up… Modern dancefloors should deffo enjoy that infectious stuff. Check it!

Press Release :
Out 5th January, the third official single to be released from Lost Midas's July debut album ‘Off The Course' is the digital double A-side "Dream Of Me"/"Off The Course (The Seshen Rework)".

This single continues the momentum of a huge 2014 for the LA based producer, whose experimental yet alluringly catchy style has been championed by Lauren Laverne and won over many other tastemakers as well as snagging top accolades including BBC 6Music Album Of The Day, Guardian Guide Single Of The Week, KCRW Most Played and NPR's Songs We Love. The end of the year brings more media features including a Guest Mix for Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6Music).

Delving deeper into the more alternative side of the album, "Dream Of Me" is Lost Midas's uncompromisingly inventive spin on a four-to-the-floor dance track. Initially harder and somewhat stranger than previous singles, this gem unfurls in all directions - the euphoric build-up and breakdown are coupled with the irresistibly dreamy vocal hooks and fluttering atmosphere that has seen all his tracks traverse the spread of radio playlists from specialist to peak time.

Demanding its own share of the limelight as a double A-side, "Off The Course (The Seshen Rework)" is a new and elaborate reimagining of the album's title track by label-mates and fellow US West Coast dwellers The Seshen, whose own acclaimed "Unravel" EP dropped this year ahead of their imminent full debut LP for Tru Thoughts. Inspired by the intriguing melody and bodyshaking drum fills of the original, The Seshen's producer Aki Ehara and singer Lalin St Juste took it upon themselves to play around in the depths of the track, and this is the gorgeous result.
