Every 6th of the month is Kologbo day at Paris DJs. Last month no new tune was released, but it was a Kologbo day anyway, since it was the day the former Fela Kuti's Afrika 70 tenor guitarist arrived in Nigeria, and the celebration happened secretely there… He's now back in France and hard working, which mostly means touring and recording new music.
So we're back on track too, with a brand new Wearplay digital single/t-shirt combo of the man: "Gbo Gbo Eniyan", featuring Papagee (from Boye PapaGee & Colours Afrobeat) on vocals, the horn & rhythmic sections from the paris-based Monkuti band, and production by Paris DJs' main man Grant Phabao.
Kologbo proves here once again his a master at composing and arranging afrobeat, while also an amazing guitar player. He's relentless too, as proves the series of monthly singles he's put out since his second album "Africa Is The Future" hit the stores last december!
