Laying some deep vocals over a dusty break loop, some delicate guitar and soulful horns, Harleighblu continues to amaze with the 4th single extracted from her album 'Forget Me Not' released nearly a year ago already. A fantastic cover bringing a new life to the Eurythmics hit!! The digital single comes with 4 bonus tunes: a storming, old school & cool drum'n'jazz remix of 'I Believe' by legendary producer Peshay; electronic remixes of 'Love Like This' and 'Sittin By The Window' by, respectively, newcomers Corsair and Sware; an instrumental version of the title track; and a new version of the beautiful 'Sittin By The Window' single featuring a new verse by French rapper Rocé is added on the promo pack. After 15 years in the business, the Brighton label Tru Thoughts still has that unique knack for releasing splendid singles regularly. Respect.

Press Release :
Almost 12 months after her debut album ‘Forget Me Not’ introduced the incredible singing and songwriting talent of Harleighblu to the world, the momentum keeps on building and the killer singles from the LP keep on coming. “Who’s That Girl?” is the fourth cut to snag a release date, out on 13th October alongside a clutch of brand new remixes by genre crossing drum ‘n’ bass legend Peshay and newcomers  Sware and Corsair.

Harleighblu’s inspired cover of “Who’s That Girl?” finds her flipping the Eurythmics classic into a loping and funky, dub-tinged cut, galvanising the emotional suspense of the original with a truly singular vocal turn. In addition to the fresh and forward-looking spin she brings to everything she does, here we see the infinite layers of maturity and timeless class that underpin her star quality. Not that any further proof of that is needed, in a year which has seen the rising Nottingham hip hop/soul queen taking the spotlight with more than 40 live shows including festival bookings galore – The Great Escape, Glastonbury, Bestival, Shambala, Boomtown, Giles Peterson’s Worldwide and Green Man – and a French tour, plus upcoming support for Amp Fiddler (see full dates overleaf).

A gifted and generous live performer, Harleighblu has risen through the thriving local scene onto the national and international stage. Produced by Joe Buhdha, the distinctive style of her album, - deep, hip-hop inflected soul brimming with modernity, bags of personality and lyrical dexterity – has seen her likened to Erykah Badu and Aluna George in the same breath, and championed by everyone from BBC Introducing to Echoes, who snapped her up for a cover feature. This adds to 250k+ YouTube hits; media acclaim including Q, Clash, DJ Mag, AfroPunk, SoulBounce, Earmilk, Artrocker and USA Today; props and heavy airplay from Charlie Sloth, Trevor Nelson, MistaJam, Target, Don Letts, Nemone, Huey Morgan, John Kennedy, Mr Scruff, Harry Shearer, Craig Charles and Chase & Status; and live sessions including XFM X-Posure, The Selector and MistaJam. Her last single ‘Sittin’ By The Window’ picked up over 20 plays at 1Xtra.

Testament to the calibre of producers lining up to work with Harleighblu, the excellent remixes here include “I Believe (Peshay Remix)” a jazz-infused d ‘n’ b reworking from the undisputed master, whose magic touch has graced the tracks of John Coltrane, LTJ Bukem, Photek, Carl Craig, Goldie, and DJ Shadow. “Love Like This (Corsair Remix)” brings a sultry yet luminescent charge to the original, care of fellow Nottingham talent, whose CV includes opening for the likes of Grandmaster Flash. Sware steps up to remix “Sittin’ By The Window”, at just 17 years of age his talents have been recognised by the likes of Gilles Peterson and True Panther Records. A bonus promo-only track “Sittin’ By The Window (Version feat. Rocé)” completes the package, demonstrating the level of renown Harleighblu has achieved in France, as the major French rapper becomes the latest talent to perform a bespoke verse, following in the footsteps of Klashnekoff.

To continue the buzz later in the year and into 2015, Harleighblu has a number of side projects bubbling, including an electronic EP with Eats Everything, South Soul Project, Lost Midas and Titeknots. A collaboration is also in the works with Starkiller, a production outfit comprised of C.E. Garcia and Alfredo E. Fratti, members of Adrian Younge's Venice Dawn. Meanwhile this talented young singer continues to win fans wherever she goes, and gain strong daytime and specialist airplay across BBC 1Xtra, Radio 1, 6Music; XFM, The Selector, Mi Soul, KCRW, NPR, FIP, Nova and more across the world.
