Grant Phabao Leroy Gibbon Wipe The Tear From Your Eye

Leroy Gibbon and Grant Phabao only met once a few weeks ago, thanks to fellow Jamaican singer Echo Minott who brought his long-time friend to his favorite recording studio. When Leroy heard Phabao's music, he was instantly hooked and offered to voice one of his riddims, the 'Usain Bolt The Puma' relentless one, tight and bumpy, like 70s Jamaica sounding heavy. The song is an original one, penned on the spot, and it's another sure-fire winner combination of great talents. International style, roots style, reggae style, Paris DJs style…. with the Ben Hito style for the creative design, of course!

Press Release :
Jamaican singer Leroy Gibbon burst on the dancehall scene in the mid-1980s with his strong voice and Lovers Rock style. He broke on the international scene in 1988 with 'Four Season Lover', penned by his singing partner Roy Reynolds of the Three Roys (Leroy Gibbon, Leroy Brown and Roy Reynolds) and produced by the renowned King Jammy. He fell in with the Jammys camp, performing over the King Jammy's Sound System regularly and recording the popular album 'This Magic Moment' for the label as well. His UK chart-toppers include 'Cupid', 'Stir It Up' and 'This Magic Moment', performed by Leroy in the Hollywood movie 'Cocktail' with Tom Cruise. His collection of Dancehall hits and dynamic stage performances keep this artist in the forefront of the Jamaican music scene.

Parisian multi-intrumentalist Grant Phabao might be the most essential producer of 21st century roots Jamaican music. His sound and mixing style got him the praise of most veterans from Studio One in Kingston, who never forget to come to Paris DJs studios in the French capital to voice some new riddims with him when in town, saying he's "bringing back the original King Tubby sound with a modern twist". Four albums, with respectively The Lone Ranger, Carlton Livingston, The Silvertones, and The Jays, have already been produced by Grant Phabao and released on the Paris DJs label. Many more singles and remixes too, already gathering half a million downloads wihout any kind of promotion. Grant Phabao is now played on many radios all over the world and will be spinning his tunes along with the Paris DJs Soundsystem at the Glastonbury festival in june 2013.
