Press Release :
Recorded in 2002 as a Bruton library album, The Sound Stylistics "Deep Funk" album has weaved its way into funk folklore for collectorsthe world over, becoming a word of mouth phenomena and a collectors wet-dream due to its failure to ever get a proper release. Despite file-sharers, bootleggers and back-street dealers pushing illegitimate copies of the tracks, the legendary status of this lost album has not waned one bit. Consisting of a who’s who of the London funk scene (and a veritable dream team of players!) the band consists of, amongst others, members of JTQ, Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, The New Mastersounds, Galliano and The Herbaliser.

On "Shake and Hip Drop" the band get down and dirty, providing pounding drums, driving bass, strutting guitars and JB style horn rasps for Noel McKoy to lay his Godfather of Soul (RIP) style vocals atop. Already a tried and tested dancefloor bomb, this release should please DJs, collectors and dancers alike. Keep your eyes peeled for the official release of the full album later in the year...
