"Two winners on one piece of wax (well, for me CD-R). Antibalas come correct with their take on Sly Stone's "Family Affair" and it just sounds soooo f'kin good. Perfect choice from an amazing band. On the flip, Psyco drop the bomb with "Mr President" listen and learn they tell we. Brilliant. Charted & Play listed."

"Back to da roots indeed and what roots by the way. Thanks to Afro-beat champions Antibalas for their rendition of Sly Stone's classic 'Family Affair' deliciously cooked by Doctor L at the command. A cut dubbed with 'Mr President' (nothing to do with Martin Solveig's track of the likes), an incredible Afro tinged song fuelled with electro & jazzy elements which should reach the favours of people such as Ron Trent, Joe Claussell, François K and Paul Murphy to name but a few (Mind Records & Service)."

"This Afrobt 7" doubleheader finds both Antibalas and Psyco in fine form. Antibalas supply a fine cover of "Family Affair", where relation tribute paying vocals are subjected to attack from full-bodied guitars and nifty bass work. Psyco show their annoyance at political set-ups on "Mr. President", backed by fluttering flutes and serious percussion."

"Diggin the Antibalas & Broken productions currently. Plan on playing cuts from both of these release on my show in the coming weeks. Always been a fan of Antibalas' work and glad to discover the work of Broken."

"Nice little 7" double sider here with Antibalas taking the Sly original and giving it a stunning afro twist with the usual raw funk groove expected. Doctor L and Psyco's b-side track "Mister President" is less afro and more jazz fusion with spoken vocals throughout interspersed by some great flute sounds"
