Biography :
Bay Area-based rap duo Homeliss Derilex are back and set to release their third album "HD's vs. The SP 1200" on Pocketslinted Entertainment. The 14-track album is a raw melding of Bay Area bravado and old skool east coast influence.

Formed in 1988, Homeliss Derilex consist of MC Grand and producer Architect. The two met in 1987 and decided with their similar raw, grimy styles that they would form a group. In 1991 the pair released "Surviving The Game", and in 1992 "Fraudulent" on Malvado Records. In 1993 the pair recorded their break out single "Cash Money" on Stones Throw Records. The same year Grand released a single with Peanut Butter Wolf and Fanatik call "The Visitor". They soon linked up with Strong Arm management and Bay Area up and coming producers like DJ Design (Foreign Legion, Look Records). Later that year, legendary Bay Area rapper JT the Bigga Figga took an interest in the group.

"It was cool", recalls Architect, "but JT's label Buc Fifty was a gangsta rap label and they didn't know what to do with us."

In 1995 Grand relocated to Long Beach, where Artchitect was living and they started working with Coolio. But again, HD had their vision and style that just didn't fit with the more west coast gangsta style.

"They wanted us to be part of their faction, but we weren't feeling the gang persona", says Grand. "So we came back to the Bay."

Production on the album is done by Architect. "HD's vs. The SP 1200" will be released in January 2005 on Rasco's imprint Pockets Linted Entertainment.
