off the deep end
'Weird Al' Yankovic - "Off The Deep End"
(Scotti Bros, 14 Avril 1992)

- Un carton mondial pour la parodie de Nirvana et sa vidéo, "Smells like Nirvana", à juste titre.
- Une polka d'anthologie, recoupant "Rock The Cradle Of Love" (Billy Idol), "Tom's Diner" (Suzanne Vega), "Love Shack" (the B-52s), "Pump Up The Jam" (Technotronic), "Losing My Religion" (R.E.M.), "Unbelievable" (EMF), "Enter Sandman" (Metallica), "Miss You Much" (Janet Jackson), "I Touch Myself" (Divinyls), "Dr. Feelgood" (Motley Crue) ou "Ice Ice Baby" (Vanilla Ice)…
- L'intro et les paroles génialissimes de "I was only kidding" : 'When I said that I'd be faithful, when I'd promised I'd be true, when I swore that I could never be with anyone but you, when I told you that i loved you, with those tendre words I spoke, I was only kidding, Now can't you take a joke'…
- Une parodie encore plus débile que l'originale : "The Plumber Song" pour "Baby don't forget my number" de Milli Vanilli (idon't forget the plumber!').
- Une chanson originale exceptionnelle : "You don't love me anymore", parodiant les slows d'Extreme (souvenez-vous), avec des paroles fascinantes : 'Oh why did you disconnect the brakes on my car, that kind of thing is hard to ignore, got a funny feeling you don't love me anymore'.
Génial, tout simplement, et c'est sans parler des clips…
